I think a CMO needs to be what I call a dot connector. There are multiple functions within marketing and if you don’t connect all of those dots, if you’re not building off of each other and not going to market with a holistic system, then your success is going to be limited. That includes pulling in product teams, sales teams, partner teams, and customer success. A really important part of a CMO’s remit is to be the glue that holds all of that together.
